The Partners In Training (P.I.T. Crew) program aligns top technical and vocational schools and their students with BFS Retail & Commercial Operations, LLC - one of the largest chains of automotive tire and service centers in the U.S. with more than 2,200 locations nationwide.
The partnership is designed as a professional practicum where students can work part-time or as interns at BFS Retail & Commercial Operations, LLC. The P.I.T. Crew helps to develop highly-trained and skilled automotive technicians and provides students with a competitive career advantage.

Whether you're a new student, graduating soon or a recent graduate, BFS Retail & Commercial Operations, LLC provides a path and a plan for success. Both part-time employment and internships are available to P.I.T. Crew students.
Students are provided company-sponsored training and professional development activities utilizing lecture-type workshops led by technical instructors, one-on-one instruction, and self-paced video training. On-the-job, in-store training provides students with hands-on reinforcement of classroom and individual instruction. Students also benefit from the supervision of specially-chosen mentors, who help students apply their skills and increase their productivity.
The P.I.T. Crew has both technical and management tracks for students with varying interests and career goals:
Technical Path:
- Lead Technician - Master Technician
- Senior Technician - Journeyman
- Technician - Apprentice
- Maintenance Technician
Management Path:
- Store Manager Trainee
- Service Manager
- Managing Partner
- District- or zone-level opportunities
- National support center opportunities
Upon graduation it is the skills, knowledge and abilities applied to a real work environment, which provide students with a competitive edge in the employment market. The P.I.T. The P.I.T. Crew consists of three primary partners. These three partners work collaboratively with BFS Retail & Commercial Operations, LLC to produce highly-skilled, trained and motivated automotive professionals.
Current students and recent graduates who are pursuing automotive careers may participate in the P.I.T. Crew. They should demonstrate interest in the automotive industry, have a positive attitude, be flexible and eager to learn, and be committed to the program.
School administrators work with their respective technical and vocational schools to provide the best of automotive instruction. School administrators in the P.I.T. Crew include placement coordinators, career counselors and technical instructors.
Automotive industry partners are mentors for the on-the-job enhancement of classroom instruction. Company teammate sponsors on the P.I.T. Crew include district staff, store managers and other store team members.
